CARDIOLOGY
Cardiology is the medical specialty that deals with the study, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases and disorders related to the heart and the cardiovascular system. Cardiologists are physicians who are specially trained to handle various heart-related conditions and manage patients with heart disease.
Coronary Artery Disease:
This involves the narrowing or blockage of the coronary arteries that supply blood to
the heart muscle, leading to conditions like angina and heart attacks.
Heart Failure:
Heart failure occurs when the heart is unable to pump blood effectively, leading to
symptoms such as shortness of breath, fatigue, and fluid retention.
Arrhythmias:
Cardiologists diagnose and treat irregular heart rhythms, which can range from harmless
palpitations to life-threatening conditions like atrial fibrillation or ventricular
tachycardia.
